Ancient Magikarp

I generally haven't drawn nonhuman characters, but I love Pokémon!

I thought I would challenge myself for the Magikarp Splash Zine centered around the fish Pokémon and combine cultural aspects of my trip to Japan with Magikarp. I made a Gyarados style Dolphin Dragon like the ones that line Japanese castles, which they believed helped protect the castle from fires. In my castle, it overlooks a lovely ocean of ancient Kanto in the Pokémon universe, where Magikarp play.

If you look closely, you can see a shiny golden Magikarp too!
